The Independent Sexual Violence Advisors were developed to help with the reporting process. They act as the go between for the police and the court system to give you all new and changing information about your case. The ISVAs can advocate for you and understand the process so can explain what will happen including time scales.

An ISVA will provide you with information about the court process including keeping you informed about charging decisions, court dates and so on. They will also be able to accompany you if you need to give evidence in court. They can also contact you once a week or month (depending on your agreement) to keep you updated and check in with you even when no new information available.
